Dear lybrate-user. Going by your description you are unlikely to get infection this way. However, since its been 6 months since the incidence you may get your HIV test done again for the sake of reassurance and if its negative it will not happen now. So please do not worry and relax.

HIV don't survive in open dry conditions. Even if the dentist has not followed universal precautions, you are 100% safe. It has been 6 months so you can take another test for your psychological satisfaction. Take care THANK YOU.
