HEX mouthwash contains Chlorhexidine Gluconate as its principal ingredient and should normally be used only when prescribed by a dentist for localized oral problems. As the saying goes, 'Excess of everything is Bad' you should use these mouthwashes diligently.

Dear Lybrate User, Chlorhexidine mouthwash (like HEX) should be used twice daily (after toothbrushing in the morning and once before bedtime after brushing) Do not add water to chlorhexidine mouthwash. Do not rinse your mouth with water or other mouthwashes right after using chlorhexidine mouthwash. You should avoid eating or drinking just after using this medication.

Its depend on your problem. But you can use it continuesly for 15-20 days. Longer use of chx can cause staining in teeth.

10 days to a week .for mouthwashes which contain chlorhexidine. Regular daily mouthwashes .like colgate oral B etc over the counter ones .daily forever like brushing .till you want to keep your oral hygeine good.
