My mother age 50 years have thyroid disorder report are T3- 70 ng/dl T4-4.0 ug/dl TSH- 38 uIU/ml Problems- cramps in legs, sometimes headache, body pain in back, hands, legs Please suggest medicines for that It will recover by thyronorm tab 125 mg daily or any better medical treatment available.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. With TSH level of 38mU/L, it is clear that her hypothyroidism is totally uncontrolled. Because of that all the symptoms are seen. TSH level has to be maintained between 3 to 4 mU/L, to be free from all the symptoms of hypothyroidism. Present dosage of throxine is not adequate, needs to be increased. Since her weight and height are not mentioned, difficult calculate the dosage. Thanks.
