Dear Lybrateuser, - You have take dietary precaution & do regular exercise to loose weight - have more of fibre containing foods like fruits, vegetables including green leafy & seasonal ones, whole grains, legumes including lentils, pulses, beans, sprouts, low fat milk & milk products, lean meats mainly seafood, nuts - avoid fried, processed & junk foods - chew your food well, have meals on time, do not skip meals, when hungry snack on fruit & vegetables as salad, yogurt, beans, butter milk which are low in calories, have 5-6 small meals including snacks rather than three large meals, keep your food portions small, combine a carbohydrate with a protein or low fat food item so that you do not feel hungry - weigh yourself once a week - do regular exercise like brisk walking, jogging, swimming, cycling for 30-40 min, do moderate weight lifting 2-3 times a week as muscles help increase your metabolic rate & burn calories faster - have water before meals, can sip also in between meals as it will help reduce hunger & reduce intake of food - sleep well for 7-8 hrs at night as less sleep causes increase in appetite - consult a dietician on forum for exact calorie requirement for gradual weight loss.
