My cousin brother is diagnosed with TB probably before 2 months. He is taking medicines. How can I protect myself & my family from getting infected. Is there any vaccine available for adults for prevention. My 15 months daughter has got vaccinated with BCG at the time of birth. Is she have any chance to get infected? Please help.

BCG vaccination give protection from nil to 80%, so you are have to use all protective life style changes. Adult can have mantous test done and if negative then can have vaccination BCG. Your brother if on effective TB treatment since 2 months, then less likly to infect others now.

Mr. lybrate-user If you 're worried about infection at home from the patient - ask him to cover mouth while coughing, if possible wear a mask at home. Keep windows open. No vaccines for you yes your baby is at risk. Eat well and remain stress free.
