Aceclomac Plus 50 Mg/125 Mg Syrup is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), prescribed for people with painful rheumatic conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. Aceclomac Plus 50 Mg/125 Mg Syrup works by blocking the effect of cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes which make chemical prostaglandins at sites of injury or damage, causing pain, swelling and inflammation. It eases pain and reduces inflammation. This medicine should not be given during pregnancy or to mothers that are breastfeeding. Is not recommended for children. This drug is available in tablet form and is taken orally.

Aceclomac Plus 50 Mg/125 Mg Syrup has side effects including diarrhoea, stomach pain, nausea, constipation, vomiting, skin rashes etc. If the side effects are severe or persistent it is advisable to consult your doctor.

You should not be taking Aceclomac Plus 50 Mg/125 Mg Syrup if –

• You are allergic to Aceclomac Plus 50 Mg/125 Mg Syrup or other anti-inflammatory pain killers.
• You ever had a problem with stomach or duodenal bleeding, such as an ulcer.
• You have a heart condition or impaired kidney or liver function.
• You are pregnant of breastfeeding a baby.

Alcohol should not be consumed with this medicine. Aceclomac Plus 50 Mg/125 Mg Syrup interacts with certain other medicines like lithium, digoxin, corticosteroids and antihypertensives and certain diseases like asthma, gastro-intestinal toxicity.

The usual dose for Aceclomac Plus 50 Mg/125 Mg Syrup is 100 mg tablet taken twice daily, preferably in the morning and evening. It can be taken with food or after food. Drinking an adequate amount of water minimises chances of indigestion and stomach irritations. The duration and amount of medicine should be followed as per the doctor’s prescription.

  The peak effect of Aceclomac Plus 50 Mg/125 Mg Syrup can be observed in 1.5 to 3 hours after oral administration.

Aceclomac Plus 50 Mg/125 Mg Syrup is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that helps relieve pain. Prostaglandins are responsible for pain, inflammation, swelling and fever. Aceclofenac inhibits the action of cyclooxygenase in the brain which is involved in the production of prostaglandins.

• Interaction with Alcohol

  Ethanol

  This medicine should not be consumed with alcohol. Symptoms of stomach bleeding (such as the presence of dried and coffee colored blood in cough or stools) should be reported to the doctor immediately.

  This combination is not recommended due to the risk of increase in the lithium levels which may lead to adverse effects .Consider taking alternative medicine after consulting your doctor.

  Digoxin

  This combination is not recommended as it increases the Digoxin levels in the body. This in turn leads to an increase in Digoxin's effects on the heart. Consider taking alternative medicine after consulting your doctor.

  Corticosteroids

  Antihypertensives

  If you are taking Antihypertensives with Aceclomac Plus 50 Mg/125 Mg Syrup, then you are at increased risk of kidney damage. This interaction is more likely to happen in the elderly population. Regular monitoring of kidney function is necessary. Advised to maintain adequate hydration and food intake.

• Interaction with Disease

  Asthma

  Aceclomac Plus 50 Mg/125 Mg Syrup should not be taken if you have NSAID-sensitive asthma. Any such history should be reported to the doctor so that appropriate substitution can be done.

  Gastrointestinal Toxicity

  Aceclomac Plus 50 Mg/125 Mg Syrup and other NSAIDs should be taken after consulting a doctor especially if the intended duration is longer than a month.
