lybrate-user, If you are on treatment for hypothyroidism, then TSH should be between 3 to 4 mU/L, then only all the symptoms will be in check and efforts to reduce weight will succeed. Your ideal body weight (IBW), should be 67 kgs, so there is an extra weight of 23 kgs. As regards the specific diet recommendation, I need to know your present diet and extent of regular exercise. All the intake has to be calculated on the basis of IBW (67 kgs). So caloric intake can be 67 X 25 = 1675 cals/d. Since you want to loose weight, another 500 cals from this have to be reduced, so only 1175 cas lper day, should be the intake. You should avoid simple carbs like sugar and sweets. Consume more of whole grain products, use millets. Consume more of green leafy vegetables and fruits. Avoid deep fried foods, pastries, other bakery items, sweetened aerated drinks (colas), fructose corn syrup containing products and highly processed food products. Avoid maida totally. Thanks.
