I am 46 years old. Having depression since last 16 years. I am using paroxetine 50 mg, lamictal 300 mg and buspin 10 mg daily. Depression eased after starting lamictal, before that antidepressant alone did not help much. The problem is I get strange /weird dreams in sleep and shout loudly in the sleep and use abusive language etc in my dreams .this problem is more pronounced if I miss any of these medicines. I know very much that these medications causing this problem. I never had this problem before my depressive episodes. Because of these dreams eventhouh I feel I slept I don't feel fresh and energetic after waking up in the morning like others. It is evident that quality of sleep is poor because of sleep disturbance. Kindly advise any suitable treatment to avoid these night weird dreams and shouting etc, do that I can have deep sleep. Regards.

Dear client, it is advisable that you meet your prescribing psychiatrist and share your concerns. You may also follow some sleep hygiene trchniques like not using gadgets, tv at least one hour prior to sleep time. Writing a diary entry about your feelings and activity during the day can help you to settle down emotionally before you sleep. Practice shavasana and visualise putting away all your sadness and worries into the air till it goes out of sight. This will help you get better and peaceful sleep.
