My father is suffering from CKD and currently he is being treated with medications to control the underlying symptoms. He has BP (usually around 150/80) and diabetes (in control) and currently he is undergoing laser treatment for diabetic retinopathy as suggested by nephro. From the last lab test (1 week back) all his electrolytes level were in normal range but the worrying fact is Creatine level was 1.9.The Creatine level is actually ranging from 1.4 - 1.9 from last 2 months. And the nephro has suggested following tablets at different frequencies currently as part of the medication: 1.Minipress 2.Cilacar 3.Concor 4.Ecosprin 5.Elketo 6.Elbiotic And he is taking Insulin (Human Actrapid) for diabetes. Can anyone tell me the uses of the above medicines and He is having Hypertension and Diabetes from last 20 yrs. And are we going in the right direction to control his Kidney issues and delay the process of dialysis or transplant or for how long we can continue on the medication, next lab test is Scheduled in 15 days.

These medicines are ok. It is important to keep both blood pressure and sugars under strict control. You need to follow nephrologist medical and dietary advice strictly so that the creatinine level stays at this level only. Needs regular follow up with nephrologist.
