I have a knee pain. I was an athlete during my school and college days. I injured my knee 2 months ago whole doing sit-ups and lounges. Doctors have diagnosed it as osteoarthritis. How can I improve my condition? Will I be able to run and do normal weight lifting at my gym? I don't wanna spend rest of my life (I'm 27YO) limping and in pain. Please suggest. Thank you. Your help is appreciated.

HI lybrate-user, You are right, at 27 years of age pain in Knee is very serious. I do not think at the age of 27 you have osteoarthritis. Kindly send X ray of Knee Joint. There are medicines which can take care of your Knee problems, but you must avoid knee bending with weight altogether for atleast 2-3 months. You can consult me at my Hospital and I can guide you for your recovery.
