Hello, Thanks for the query. To suggest a diet plan for a diabetic person following details are necessary: weight, height, fasting and PP glucose levels, HbA1c%, lipid profile, present dietary pattern and extent of daily exercise. Based on all those details only a diet plan can be given. However, the general guidelines are: 1) Avoid sweets, deep fried foods, pastries, junk foods, bakery items and foods made from maida. 2) Total caloric intake has to be based on ideal body weight, extent of daily exercise and glucose levels. 3) Increase the intake of green leafy vegetables, salads and certain fruits. 4) Always use whole grain flour for making chapati and roti.
