I am 60 years old, male. I was suffering from Lumbar Disc Prolapse L4-L5, and L5-S1 from 1981 when I was 23 years old. I lifted 2 banana trees one after the other on my shoulder along with one other person during my brother's marriage, while shifting the trees from the farm to the bullock cart. We had to walk around 100 metres to reach the cart. I started realizing pain on my left leg and numbness after a month. I used to lie flat on the floor and cry in pain. I was a student then. I went to the Government Hospital and the doctors at the Ortho department took a series of x-rays, put me on pain killers, and later referred me to Neuro department. The doctors there suggested me to undergo a test - injecting a die at the region and subsequent x-ray or scan, they also spoke within themselves that I am too young to undergo such tests. One doctor privately advised me to live with the pain for sometime. I took his advise and lived with the pain. Walking with good shoes helped me overcome the pain to a certain extent. I also consulted the Chief Neurologist Dr. N.B. Pranesh in Coimbatore. He also advised me against surgery and prescribed me medicines. By God's will, I continued my life till 2012 and in the year 2013, I got operated - underwent Microdisectomy for L4-L5 and L5-S1 at M/s. Ganga Hospitals, Coimbatore. Dr. Ajoy Shetty performed the surgery. Subsequently, I had pain and consulted the doctors at Ganga Hospital. They gave me a steroid injection in the Lumbar region. I have lived up to this date with pain, and now my pain is worse, I have instability, pain in my back (hip) and it is more when I get up from bed. I really don't know what to do and how to go about and where to go. Please advise.
