My wife has recently started to grind her teeth during her sleep. She grinds her teeth so strongly that it wakes me up 3-4 times during the night and it. It has started almost 10-15 days ago only. Sometimes she also has a restless leg during her sleep but this is usually during the day not at night. Restless leg in the night is very rare. Recently diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism and she has maintained a thought in her mind that because of hyperthyroidism she may not be able to conceive and this is repeatedly fed into her brain by her mother as she is pressurizing us for having a baby soon. We have been married for 3.5 years and have not planned a baby yet. This is a very grievous thought that she is maintaining now a days and this may be a reason of depression or anxiety for her. Please advise. Thanking in anticipation.

Dear user. Although teeth grinding can be caused by stress and anxiety, it often occurs during sleep and is more likely caused by an abnormal bite or missing or crooked teeth. It can also be caused by a sleep disorder such as sleep apnea. More details required for a diagnosis and treatment. Take care.
