Does the skin colour becomes light after puberty? Is this a myth? Is it common for the skin to become dark and get infected by acne during puberty?

During adolescence, there are many hormonal changes in the body. Acne being the most common one. Also, we are a little care free about our skin which is sun exposed most of the time. In twenties, skin definitely gets better with hormonal changes settling and with us being more careful with our health.
