My age is 30 male. I am taking medication for blood sugar. My sugar level is around 210 after food in medication. My tablets prescribed by my doctor: 1)pioglitazone & metformin hydrochloride (sustained release) 2) metformin hydrochloride prolonged release and glimpride 3) vildagliptin & metformin hydrochloride 4) rosuvastatin & fenofibrate for cholesterol 5) taurine and n acetyl cysteine for kidney we are planning for pregnancy from next month .my wife is normal. Do the above tablets have any effect in pregnancy and baby?

As regards the question of the tablets being taken by you (to control blood glucose & lipids) have absolutely no effect on the planned pregnancy. As wife is having no problems there will be no problem with your treatment. However, as regards your glucose control following should be your targets to remain free from any long term complications associated with diabetes :fbg < 100 mg, pp 150 to 160 mg & hba1c% < 6.5%.
