If the pain is not exaggerated, then your mother can move legs and that too at limited angle cautiously. If swelling in leg(s) especially below knee is observed, then raise the leg(s) more than 45 by keeping pillows under them. Diet should be kept at nominal intake of semi-solid or liquid food (After every 2-4 hrs gap). Also take care for any of gastric issues. Proper rest is required.
