Continue the treatment you are taking for two weeks at a stretch bcz anal fissures take about 2 to 3 weeks to heal. Just add cremagel or dilgel in the regimen, mix it with lidocaine jelly and apply thrice a day after sits baths. If it recurrs after 2 to 3 weeks of this treatment, then consult a good proctologist or a general surgeon in your area. Regards.

Hi lybrate-user, thank you for reaching out to Lybrate. To adress your problems: (1) the "fissure type" problem is a persistent problem it seems and when you use lidocaine gel. Sitz bath and isabgol husk it reduces and then comes back again. For that: recurrent fissures are usually due to persistent hard stools. Make high fiber diet a habit - its a good habit for even people without any problems. You can continue taking isabgol husk if you are unable to incorporate high fiber foods in your diet. If that is not sufficient, you can add a mild laxative/stool softner as well. That would help in healing the fissure as well as prevent it from recurring. If you can prevent your stools from becoming hard, that should solve the problem. You can stop sitz bath and lidocaine gel once the problem is resolved. If nothing works and the problem continues, you will need to visit a surgeon/proctologist and the ultimate option would be a small surgery called lateral sphincterotomy. (2) blackish stools/motion: are you taking iron supplements or any other medications? Iron supplements and some other medicines can make stools blackish. If you are not on any such medications, you should visit your surgeon at the earliest because that would mean there's some kind of bleeding from your upper digestive tract - esophagus/stomach/upper or small intestine. Hope I have answered your queries. If you need any further help, please feel free to contact me on private chat here at Lybrate.
