Anal fissure occurs due to trauma to the inner lining of the anus from a bowel movement or other stretching of the anal canal. This can be due to a hard, dry bowel movement or loose, frequent bowel movements. Patients with a tight anal sphincter muscle are more likely to develop anal fissures. Need to evaluate your concern I detail, consult online.

Have a mild burning sensation in and around my anal region. It occurred after I pooped today. No pain or irritation or itchiness as of now. But burning sensation. Reasons? Had mild diarrhea 2 days ago. No burning sensation during that period. Is it a anal fissure? Can diarrhea cause anal fissures? Any other reasons. Home remedies?

Yes it could be anal fissure, the medicine can heal the wound but if the anal muscle is tight then the wound will recur again and again so first of all use indian style toilet, if you are using commode toilet, then use toilet step stool, commode toilet is unnatural for humans, western toilet increases constipation. Since constipation is a bigger factor behind piles & fissure. If you are feeling itching & burning, your anal muscles become unusually tight, this is symptoms of anal fissure, also don't go for any anal surgery fissurectomy or laser, your anus grip can be loose after surgery & it takes too much time to heal the anus wound, by that time you will also suffer pain and trouble, you should get some ayurvedic therapies like ayurvedic matra basti, ayurvedic kshar karma & anal dilatation. After that you will never have a fissure again. You'll be fine in just 10 days. We will provide you demo video for the treatment procedure, please contact us for more details at sushruta clinic, new delhi-45.

Hello lybrate-user. Firstly, my best wishes for you and your child. May you be blessed always. For anal fissure, the treatment mostly involves using laxative syrup (duphalac), local ointment/ cream (fidonal/ anometrogyl), sitz bath and analgesics sos. You can certainly take proper appointment for detailed treatment plan.

I have facing fissure problem from past 3 years (skin is visible outside of size 1 cm) & it is painful, smells, blood also comes from it. Daily life is not convenient due to this. I met a general gastroenterology she advice to maintain diet for life long. I tried maintaining diet & I felt fissure issue is controlled for some day but again it reoccurred if I miss fiber diet or travel and have outside food for a week. Due to not having permanent cure from diet & medicine I visited a surgeon gastroenterology. He took pictures of anus area & recommended to go for laser surgery for permanent solution. I am not sure what steps to take, should I go for surgery or maintain diet? I need suggestion on this to have permanent solution. I am not sure if laser surgery is safe so not able to take decision. And I do not want fissure to increase and create more trouble in future. I can send those pictures but I do not see any option to attach.

1. Take home cooked, fresh light food. Take a lot of green vegetables n fruit. 2. Increasing the fibre in your diet is known to be as effective as injections for preventing further problems 3. Increasing your fluid intake which can help prevent further problems with haemorrhoids 4. Avoiding straining and constipation which is the most useful thing patients can do to prevent the problem coming back. If the fibre content of your diet is not sufficient to keep your stools soft, then a fibre supplement can help. 5. Maintain active life style 6. Curd is good for u. 7. Avoid fast foods, spicy n fried foods homeopathy has very encouraging results. Consult online with details.
