Hi, fissure can be painful and can cause bleeding. Conservative measures like taking high fibre diet ,loads of fruits ,vegetables ,salad and laxatives or allopathic or homeopathic medication after doctor consult can solve your problem temporarily. Definitive treatment is surgical management .laser treatment of fissure is the latest modality .it is painless 10 min surgery .there are no dressing post surgery .you would be given a proper diet chart and certain pelvic floor exercise be taught to you to avoid constipation .you can also consult me through Lybrate for further details.

I have undergone Lateral Anal sphincterotomy surgery last week. My doctor has advised to pass 2-3 soft stools per day. I am taking medications accordingly and having a softer diet. But from yesterday, I am having hard motions and my stitches are burning a lot. Kindly suggest how to make my stools softer.
