Mr. lybrate-user, thanks for the query. Your fasting glucose is fairly good (ideally should be < 100 mg), pp is quite high. There is a need to look at hba1c%, which at your age should be < 6.5%. As regards shifting to a substitute that is fine. But first and foremost there is a need to achieve a stricter glucose control. So there is a need to look at your weight, height, dietary pattern, extent of daily exercise in addition to upgrading the present medication. You need to increase the dose of the medication if your are taking only once daily. Also need to know about kidney function and hba1c before advising a change. Your postprandial is on the higher side, but if the hba1c is close to 6.5 you don't need to worry much.
