Hi, I am a 23 year old female and I get occasional rectal bleeding. It happened once around 4 years ago after I took antibiotics for fever (i guess they were strong). Can antibiotics cause rectal bleeding? I live in a constant fear that rectal bleeding might happen every time I poop. I even drink lot of water. Please suggest some home remedies for it.

Yes it’s possible. But did bleeding happen again after that incidence? If no then relax. If yes then 1. Take home cooked, fresh light food. Take a lot of green vegetables n fruit. 2. Increasing the fibre in your diet is known to be as effective as injections for preventing further problems 3. Increasing your fluid intake which can help prevent further problems with haemorrhoids 4. Avoiding straining and constipation which is the most useful thing patients can do to prevent the problem coming back. If the fibre content of your diet is not sufficient to keep your stools soft, then a fibre supplement can help. 5. Maintain active life style 6. Curd is good for u. 7. Avoid fast foods, spicy n fried foods homeopathy has very encouraging results. Consult online with details.

Hey! there are several cause for rectal bleed. But it’s not likely due to the antibiotics. You’ve to tell ither symptoms too like constipation. Is it fresh bleeding. Is it mixed with stools or you bleed before stools strt coming. Whether it’s associated with pain or not. Only after that some diagnosis can be made. You may consult me for the same.
