If this is your first episode you should take for at least 6 months from the date of total recovery. Prodep is not an addicting drug and when your doctor wants you to stop, it can be stopped. But remember to take for the prescribed period to prevent future episodes which may make you to take drugs for longer periods.

Dear , depressive disorder needs prolonged treatment. I don' t know for how many years you are taking this treatment. If you are feeling fine, you should talk to your psychiatrist to taper the medicines and stop in a period of one year. Abrupt stop is not advisable. Also you should practice psychotherapy methods so that those depression symptoms do not relapse. Post a private question to me and I shall provide you tips. Take care.
