My 5 year old toddler fell off the bed while she was jumping on it and landed on her left shoulder. She said her shoulder was sore only to discover that there was a clavicle fracture. The doctor did a figure-of-8 splint bandage to the front which I found strange as ive seen them being done to the back but because it covered the collarbone my toddler seemed more comfortable and complained less about the pain. She was not given a sling but always has her left arm in sling position. Is this normal? Its been 1 week since the incident. How long will it take to heal. Do I need to take her for a second opinion?

Mostly it's okay. No need of second opinion.
