I'm 17 years old and I'm worried about my sleeping habits. I can't stop sleeping. I constantly feel fatigued and tired during the day, and sleep at inappropriate times. After I wake up from naps or long sleeps I don't feel refreshed at all - infact quite the opposite. It makes me feel drained and fatigued. Whenever I feel pressured, I begin to fall asleep (this has began to effect my exams as I can't stay awake during them and I can't stay awake long enough to study for them). I wake up frequently during the night when I sleep and it leaves me restless. I experience sleep paralysis with hallucinations that leave me pretty scared. This usually lasts for a few minutes and I can't look away from them, leaving it a vivid and terrifying experience. I have always been this tired with my sleeping but every time I went to the doctors for help, it was dismissed. It's suddenly got even worse and I can't cope with it anymore. Do you have a suggested diagnosis as to what's wrong with me? Thank you.
