I was prescribed propranolol 40 mg for my social anxiety disorder. And im taking it for last 6-7 months. Did not go to my psychiatrist due to some reason. Pls help me whether I need to stop the drug or continue the same (if so for hw long?) and also wanted to know will I get any side affect for taking the tablet (mentioned) for long time.(if want to stop the drug -hw to stop?)

Hi lybrate-user, sorry to hear that you feel anxious. As a psychologist we do not prescribe medication, only a psychiatrist ie an mbbs doctor can do that. But I can definitely tell you this that starting or stopping medication without consulting your psychiatrist can do even more harm. Please take or stop medication only under the supervision of your psychiatrist. Also you can try alternative forms to cure yourself like psychotherapy.
