Hi my father's fasting blood sugar value is 70.5 and post prandial is 96.2. Glycosylated hemoglobin 5.8, mean plasma glucose 119.8 medicine being taken by him - eternex m 1000 (salt metformin 1000 + teneligliptin 20) once a day, since 1.5 yrs. Having sugar since last 30 years. Age 69. He is having bp as well since last 35 years. Medicine taking - tg tor 10, attend d once a day. Please confirm if this is the right medicine for sugar and how to make these values of sugar normal.

Hello Thanks for the query. I have seen the details given. The glucose values are absolutely fine. So there is no reason to change any treatment. Fasting glucose is quite low, any value lower than that can cause hypoglycemia. Otherwise present medication is quite good. Please check his serum creatinine and urea as well as microalbuminuria to know kidney function status. There is no mention f his weight and height, extent of exercise and dietary pattern. Those details are equally important. Thanks.
