Vitiligo occurs when pigment-producing cells (melanocytes) die or stop producing melanin ? the pigment that gives your skin, hair and eyes color. The involved patches of skin become lighter or white. It's unclear exactly what causes these pigment cells to fail or die. Usually, it takes longer period of time (around three months) to see any visible difference. Being this an auto immune disease it can be associated with other auto immune diseases like thyroid disorders ,diabetes etc. These need to be assessed thoroughly and find out any problem associated with this. Please do online consult or visit your nearest dermatologist for better treatment.
