I am having this weird headaches since april. It starts with extreme pressure on right jaw then moves to nose and behind eyes and then the head. Initially on one side of the entire face and head feels pressure then it moves to the other side. The pressure and pain is not constant, it?s more like an attack. It becomes difficult to open mouth or concentrate and I get into a brain fog. It comes few days every other week and is extreme for certain hours. Sometimes my right ear rings too. If I lie down I can feel that pressure and tension on back of my head too. I have had tmj problems due to clinching and bruxism since childhood. I also have adhd and consume 20 mg methylphenidate hydrochloride daily. I was very active before lockdown, basically a boxer and wrestler. This issue arose along with back ache.

Dear Mr. lybrate-user, the symptoms you have described can be due to migraine disorder or maybe because of pericranial muscle spasm because of you tmj disorder. You can otc pain killers for aborting the acute attacks. However any prolonged use is definitely discouraged without a proper medical supervision. In addition you can adopt relaxation techniques and a sound sleep every day of atleat 7-8 hours per day is must. Still if pain persist, interventional pain management options can be tried where in nerves carrying pain from the painful areas are blocked. Feel free to get in touch for any further advise.
