I am 69 years old male male having diabetes for 10 years and bp for 5 years. I am taking metformin 850sr 2 times and cilaheart t half one time in the morning. From the time I started bp medicine I had urinating pain, but never taken care. I had tested urine speed and it showed very less than normal. My prostate is normal. For 10 days I stopped the bp medicine and I had better urine speed better sexual activity but headache started without bp raise. Again I started bp medicine and headache subsided. Kindly advise.

Hi Mr. lybrate-user, sexual dysfunction is a rare side effect of cilaheart and in that case it is better to switch over to another bp reducing medication after checking bp again. The headache may not be related to stopping of medicines. Thanks.

Hello lybrate-user. You are a diabetic and hypertensive. You can not afford to stop your bp medicine abruptly. In case you have problem urinating, get psa done and an ultrasound kub for residual urine. Monitor your blood sugar and bp regularly and revert with reports.
