I have a question about hiv transmission. I had sex on december 18 and I got a std/hiv test two weeks after & I contracted herpes from what the result said. I want to know will the test be accurate for the hiv test! I also got a rapid test on february 25 and it was negative. Will the results be accurate! one doctor told me that I would have to wait six months to have an accurate test but I want to know right now if I have it. If you can get tested every three months then why would it take six months for my results to come back accurately. I was negative for both test! please help me figure out when should I get tested? I need to know how often and when will it be accurate! please help.
