My father is 63 and he has pneumonia. He was admitted in hospital two months ago and discharged. He is now taking nebulization with duolin and foracort. But his palm had muscle cramps everyday. Doctor has prescribed to take nebulization every alternate day and oxygen cylinder was given back as his breathing got stable. But he will get cold suddenly due to weather and he takes nebulization. One of my aunt who is a pharmacist told that these are steroids and he may get heart attack or kidney failure. Please advice which is right for my dad.

Dear Lybrate user, Nebulising solutions contain minute doses of medicine (steroids etc). The doses are in MICROGRAMS and don't cause harm. unless they are prohibited due to some underlying disease. Muscle cramps can be due to many reasons including use of Duolin (salbutamol can cause tremors, spasms). You can ask your doctor to review the use of Duolin, but dont be afraid to use Nebulisation, as it helps respiratory patients. Wishing you father Good Health.
