For my satisfaction can the dentist give local anaesthesia in the second sitting. I know it might not hurt but I'm apprehensive. Is it harmful?

Why not. If you are undergoing rct and if it pains he can definitely. But when it is final sitting it has to be pain free without local anaesthesia.

I assume you are talking about the second sitting of RCT. If you are more comfortable working under local anesthetic, you can mention it to your dentist. While one syringe of local anesthetic won't harm you, sometimes the dentists prefer to do certain procedures without anesthetic for medical reasons. So as long as both you and your dentist agree with the use of local anesthetic, there is no reason why you shouldn't get it.
