Actually I tried eating a hard nut and after that my jaw joint is paining as soon as I try opening my mouth fully. Can you please suggest me how can I get relief from it.

Hi Mr. Lybrate-user, Since you've eaten hard nut, it has set inflammation or mild trauma to the joint, which will take some time to resolve. Don't force mouth to open widely, have soft diet, periodic hot fermentation with massage over that area, will suffice. Painkiller can also be used as an adjunct.

The pain may be due to trauma to the muscles of jaw or due to the jaw bone. Step one is try some muscle relaxants for example zerodol Mr. tabs twice for 2-3 days with any antacid like pan d .if it doesn't improve, visit a dentist to check any deviation in mouth opening, get an opg (full mouth x-ray )to make sure the jaw bones and condyles are in proper position.

Hello, sometimes while biting on a nut there are chances the tooth might fracture or it might be just a pain in the periodontium or gums. So kindly visit a dentist and get it clinically evaluated and get a x-ray done of that particular tooth. If everything is fine pain will go in few days.
