In the modern vacutainer system of blood collection is it safe to reuse the tube holder (a device that holds the two sided needle for blood collection), however, the needle and the tubes in which blood is drawn are always new. What if the tube holder contains a small bloodstain and a new needle and corresponding new tube is used, will the new double-sided needle also get contaminated?
