My mother (age 49) was given telmisartan for high bp. Does she need to take the medication everyday? What other precautions should she take to maintain her blood pressure?

Yes. It needs to be taken on daily basis. Again measure bp after 3 days. See it is not too low. Systolic below 100 or diastolic below 60. In that case she can take half or completely vain off tablets. After 3 days again check bp. And then take final decision of dose. Exercise for 30 minutes in morning helps in good heart function. Another thing to do is decrease salt in diet. Hope this helped.
