I am having cerebral palsy mainly spastic type but for last 3 years having extreme pain & tenderness in lower limbs, back, si joint & pelvic region. Apart from above problem in year 2018 diagnosed with sacroilits involving si joints. I got temporary relief when I take painkiller & muscle relaxant & physiotherapy session, I wanted to know should I need to follow or take the treatment whole life or is there any other effective treatment is available like botox injection, therapy? Is it useful in my case, pls advice?

HI, Si joint arthritis needs regular treatment. Sometimes an injection of the joint gives you benefit sufficient to reduce the painkillers. However, this injection can be very different in different people.

The treatment options for cerebral palsy are more of mechanical rather pharmacological. It will be best guided by direct patient examination and physiotherapy. For sacroilitis a lot of medicines are available. Pain killers are only a part of the treatment regime and should not be continued regularly for long. Other options can be opted after ruling out other associated spinal diseases by mri and blood investigation. It is better to consult a spine specialist for the detailed examination and treatment.
