After dental treatment of fixing bridge between canine teeth in bottom jaw, ls canine tooth fractured from top as grinding was done to fix the crown for rpd,(in just 2 years). Before other canine tooth fails, x-ray was advised and on detailed review, dentist finds that there is need for three implants in bottom jaw for rpdas mini. Bone thickness is not available (6.9 mm instead 8 mm. Top jaw works well with front bridge & other teeth. I am awaiting for extraction of both canine teeth, till other-one fails. Would you like to advise-whether I should go for immediate extraction of canine teeth & either go for implants or full denture for bottom jaw! I am feared of long & complicated surgery of implants, so seeking for second opinion without any prejudice. My dentist is ready for full denture-as trial & implants as last resort! kindly extend help.

Implant is always good idea. if you wait for canine to fail then there is a high chance that there will be very less bone remaining for the implant treatment. in that case only treatment option that might remain with you is wearing a removable denture. better is to plan the treatment early and go ahead with a proper treatment plan. canines are very sturdy teeth and its quite difficult to that they will be removed soon. kindly go for a second opinion. and if you have taken any diagnostic radiographs kindly share them on the forum so that it'll be easier to get to know the exact status of your teeth and bone

At your age dentures may be ok.

If your canine roots are healthy, they can be retained for root supported overdentures after doing their rcts. If the canines are already failing and periodontaly weak, it's better to remove them early do that further bone loss doesn't occur and get implant supported dentures for long term comfort. Implant surgery is not a complicated one and there is no reason why you should be afraid of them. All the best!
