I hit my toes today and now two of my toes are both red and painful. I can keep them straight but when I curl them its very painful. Im not sure if its a hairline fracture or just a sprain. Im not sure whether to get an X-ray or not as I can just about walk on it and when I sit down its a tender dull ache.

Along side the conservative management would be to keep ice in that inflamed area during one time in a day and also hot water fermentation which would help you to reduce the pain. Also please immobilize both the toes by putting a strap ie. Micropore or even using a small plaster using a band aid. That will help you to reduce the movement which will enhance the healing.

U need to do an X-ray to confirm. Although it?s not Going to make any difference. As if it?s a fracture then in this area plaster is not the solution. One thing u should do is use shoes more for daily routine. As it will not allow movement of affected toes nnwill help to recover fast.
