Hi, I have started Vit D3 supplementation 10, 000iu a day, I have heard excess of cholecalciferol can cause calcification of soft tissues and might reduce Kidney GFR on the forums but did not find any research on it, any recommendations or should I drop to 5000 iu. I started it in the first place to increase immunity and bone health.

Vitamin D intake is recommended at 400?800 IU/day, or 10?20 micrograms. However, some studies suggest that a higher daily intake of 1000?4000 IU (25?100 micrograms) is needed to maintain optimal blood levels.
