I was trying to get off paroxetine after 4.5 years of use. After facing some withdrawal symptoms, my psychiatrist gave me Placida, one tablet to be broken in half for 10 days and report back. I did some self checking and it seems that the combination of the medicine is banned in India. Also, it seems that this is used for Schizophrenia. I am really scared if my condition has detoriated to psychosis. Should I take the medicine? Is the medicine used for treatment of depression or ocd? Thank you.

No, it is used for anxiety and the combination is a good one for anxiety and your psychiatrist has rightly prescribed. It gets frequently banned and ban lifted, due to reasons of combining and not dangers. It is a very good. All the best.
