Hi I am 20 yo female. I do not have any sexual contact with anyone. I am non reactive with RPR screening but reactive with TPHA assay. Do I have syphilis?

Hello- Syphilis is spread (transmitted) through close skin-to-skin contact with an infected area. You can catch syphilis by having oral, vaginal or anal sex with a person who is in the first two stages of the infection. Since you are not sexually active, it might be possible that the TPHA came reactive due to a faulty lab test. Repeat it from any other lab, I am sure it will come non -reactive this time.
