My grandma is suffering from bedsore. The doctor prescribed mahacef xl 200 as antibiotic. After consumption of this she is suffering from severe loose motion. Is there any substitute medicine for this antibiotic?

Dear lybrate-user, You can consult the surgeon for the change in antibiotic. With Cefalosporins loose motions are a common side effect that is attributed due to normal gut flora being disturb. I would suggest to keep her hydrated and home made Butter milk and curd to be given. Lactobacilli preparations are available OTC (Probiotics) like Yakult, they will also help.
