Sir, my father is 44 years old. He is facing problem in throat (voice ).Earlier he could speak clearly but now he cannot speak louder and clear. By clear I mean that some words are not audible as air passes through his voice box without producing voice. He is not suffering from any pain but he his intensity and loudness gone very down. This all happened suddenly not taking more than 3 days.

Did he suffer from cold n cough just before this. Tell him to do saline gargles If problem persists do a thorough check up done by a good ENT.

We have vocal cords in our larynx or voice box. We bring them together and release lungs air so they start vibrating and hence voice is produced. In your father's case, they are not closing of properly resulting in more air escape and less volume and clearity. This can be due to some obstruction like mass growth or vocal paralysis, etc or may be functional where no physical obstruction present. See and ENT (laryngologist) first to rule out any pathology then get voice therapy sessions by a qualified speech therapist.
