Hello Dr. I had my first fits in 2002 while having lunch in college, after that for 8 years I didn't had any fits and was taking Eptoin 100 mg a day. But again in 2014 while chatting on mobile I had fits with left body jerking movements. So with the suggestion of neurologist I increased the dosage to 2 tablets a day. But still I feel some kind if Aura feeling while I am having my lunch or dinner. So would kindly like to know a proper treatment. Thanks.

Your eptoin dose has to be adjusted according to your weight. It is taken as 5 mg/ kg body weight. Please consult your neurologist for correct dose.

Dear lybrate-user, I don’t think you are taking your anti epileptic drug in proper dose. That is the reason your seizures are partially controlled. If your anti-epileptic is phenytoin (Eptoin), it’s actual maintenance dose is 3-5 mg /kg body weight /day. My suggestion is: you should take Eptoin 100 mg thrice daily and continue. However take advise of your Neurologist, who will be your final judge. Also avoid precipitating factors of seizures. Wish you a very good health!
