A type of blood cancer in which there is an abnormal growth of the B-cell lymphocytes(a kind of WBC) which look like hair under a microscope, is called hairy-cell leukemia. Although in some cases, there maybe no symptoms at all, the most commonly observed symptoms of this condition are Weight loss, fatigue, loss of appetite, weakness and easy bruisings. The reason behind the development of such a condition in a person, is yet to be found. It can be treated through surgeries, biological treatments and chemotherapy.
HOW IS HAIRY-CELL LEUKEMIA DIAGNOSED?
A person with hairy-cell Leukemia have higher chances of suffering from another type of cancer.
