My wife is suffering from hyperthyroid. After 2 month with regular intake of Neo-Mercazole 5 tablet, it get controlled and normal but the weight still not getting increased. Done some reports like 1. Thyroid intake: Which is normal. 2. Antibody AntiTPO: Result is bit high (376) more than 34. Please share the experience about AntiTPO Antibody as showing very high wrt normal. Please let me know Is there any medication required or any food items need to take?

Hello, Thanks for the query. Usually with high anti TPO antibodies, there is lymphocyte infiltration in thyroid gland. This usually causes hypothyroidism. However, increased antibody level in Hyperthyroidism means there is a significant autoimmune process going on. There is no specific treatment directed towards reducing these antibodies. However, intake of selenium is to help in reduction. Thanks.
