In hyperthyroid status you need to avoid iodine containing food like iodised salt etc., The food items like fish, egg yolk etc., you need not stop completely but only avoid excessive consumption. The body looking slim is the nature of the hyperthyroidism. You need to keep the thyroid levels normal to gain weight. As for food take protein containing food like dal, non-veg etc., As for exercises easy and simple one is walking and jogging. Is facility available you can do weight training to build muscles. As of now we do not have anything to completely cure the condition but we can keep it under control with medication. So the medicines you need to take life long. Hope this has answered your concern.

Hello, thanks for the query. Madam, I have seen the details mentioned. Tsh 5.9 mu/l means your hypothyroidism is not in control. Ideally tsh should be around 3 to 4 mu/l and t3 as well as t4 should be in the normal range (there is no mention of t3 & t4 levels). Please remember you can not or should not stop taking levothyroxine, that will make the condition still bad. If you have any doubts please do come back. Thanks.

Hello, thanks for the query. Madam, in women following menopause because of lack of estrogens there is an increase in the bone loss. This leads to osteopenia and later osteoporosis. Therefore treatment for preventing the bone loss is to give estrogens or a combination of estrogen & progestin plus calcium and vitamin d3. The drug prescribed to you also is supposed to help reduce the bone loss. There are some side effects, but if you can tolerate the same then please go ahead. Thanks.

Do you have dandruff problem also. Regularly wash your hair with mild shampoo. 1. Vitamin for hair loss.(a, b and c) 2. Enrich diet with protein. 3. Do warm coconut oil massage. Take coconut oil and heat it up so that it is warm, but not too hot. Massage your scalp with this hot oil for a few minutes. 4. Avoid brushing wet hair. 5. Keep yourself hydrated. 6. Put on a shower cap for an hour then shampoo your hair. It helps to stop hair loss and promote hair growth. 7. Avoid hairstyles that pull on the hairline. 8. Ditch hair tools that use high heat. 9. Be wary of chemical processing. 10. Drink water to hydrate your body. U can mix arnica q and jaborandi q equal quantity. Apply on scalp with the help of cotton. Wash hair next day. Do it twice a week homeopathy is a very effective for this problem n has very encouraging results. Consult online for medicine n further details.
