I am having pain at my heels for the past one year. There is pain and stiffness in my achilles tendon when I start walking after being idle for some time and it goes away after taking a few steps. I did consult a doctor and get my uric acid levels checked. He prescribed me some medicines but they were of not much help. And later I lost some weight and the pain became less intense. Now I am back to my old weight and the pain is also back. I have friends who are over 100 kgs complaining about knee pain but none of them has pain in the ankle. I used to play badminton before and I tried to start it again but the pain is getting more intense the following day after the game. Is this just because of weight? I have no history of ankle injuries.

It can be due to your overweight you should be around 72 kg at this height. Anyways for treatment of it go for contrast bath daily for 2 weeks regularly wear shoes having very soft insole you can buy gel insoles or heel cups and do streching excercise of calf muscle. I hope if you do it properly your pain will go away in 2 weeks.
