My husband is diabetic and has bp. Last 2 days after walking he has got swelling on his feet for the first time. What may be the reason .He is 69. Although he is lean he has put on weight about 3 kg.

lybrate-user ji, Thanks for the query. A person with diabetes and high BP can develop swelling in the legs and feet due to many reasons. Uncontrolled BP is one of the reasons. Secondly drugs used to control BP and blood glucose can also lead to same problem. Please let me know the drugs being taken. Because drugs like Pioglitazone & Glimepiride (for diabetes) and Amlodepine can cause such a side effect including weight gain. Thanks.
