I have got viral fever for last 3 days. I went to a doctor who prescribed azee 500, pan d and cheston cold. I'm continuously sweating throughout night after taking cheston cold. Day before yesterday I had done cbc in which platelet count was 1.09 lakh while I verified it yesterday from other lab to see the count as 174 lakh.. Doctor had advised hospitalization yesterday and suggested tests of dengue and other such tests, but I did not agree as I was feeling better. Please suggest whether everything is ok or I need to see a doctor again as here in suburbs of mumbai the diseases dengue and swine flu r prevalent. Further I read that cheston cold has been banned and because of this tablet I was sweating profusely for last 3 nights. Does it mean I still have temperature and I need to consult a better doctor or I'll get cbc done again as suggested by my physician.
