Hello Lybrate user, root canal treatment involves cleaning (sterilisation) of canals present in your tooth. These canal are cleaned with help of thin needle like files under local anesthesia. These files are are hand driven or motor driven, motor driven files are called rotary, they have more efficacy and requires less time to complete the procedure. Rct with laser can be done but has not any significant advantage over the rotary instruments. Hope this helps.
